Bolts

What are bolts?

Bolts are mechanical parts, with a nut with cylindrical threaded fasteners.

The head and screw (with external threads of the cylinder) composed of two parts of a class of fasteners, need to cooperate with the nut, used to fasten the connection of two parts with a through hole.

This form of connection is called bolt connection. Such as the nut from the bolt screw down, and can make the two parts separate, so the bolt connection is removable.

What are bolt grades?

Bolts according to the performance level are divided into 3.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9, and 12.9 grades, of which more than 8.8 (including 8.8) bolts made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium-carbon steel and heat-treated (quenched + tempered), commonly known as high-strength bolts, 8.8 or less (excluding 8.8) commonly referred to as ordinary bolts. [2]

Ordinary bolts can be divided into A, B, and C three grades according to the production accuracy, A, B grade for refined bolts, and C grade for crude bolts. For connecting bolts for steel structures, unless otherwise specified, they are generally ordinary rough-grade C bolts.

There are differences in the processing methods for different grades, and the corresponding processing methods are usually as follows:

① A, B grade bolts bolts bolts from lathe processing, smooth surface, precise size, its material performance grade 8.8, production and installation of complex, expensive, rarely used;

② C-grade bolts are made of unprocessed round steel, the size is not precise enough, and their material performance grade is 4.6 or 4.8 grade. Shear connection deformation, but easy to install, low production costs, mostly used for tensile connection or installation of temporary fixing.

Stainless steel bolts are divided into A1-50, A1-70, A1-80, A2-50, A2-70, A2-80, A3-50, A3-70, A3-80, A4-50, A4-70, A4-80, A5-50, A5-70, A5-80, C1-50, C1-70, C1-110, C4-50, C4-70, C3-80, F1-45, F1-60, based on the steel category of the performance level. 50, C4-70, C3-80, F1-45, F1-60. where the first letter and number represent the group of stainless steel, and the second and third numbers represent 1/10 of the tensile strength.

What are bolts’ applications?

Bolts in daily life and industrial production and manufacturing are indispensable, bolts are also known as the rice of industry. It can be seen that the bolt is widely used.

The applications of bolts are electronic products, mechanical products, digital products, power equipment, and electromechanical products. Ships, vehicles, water conservancy projects, and even chemical experiments are also used in the bolt.
