Nuts
What are nuts?
Nuts are parts that connect machinery and equipment closely, through the inner threads, the same specification nuts and bolts can be connected together.
Nuts and bolts or screws screwed together to play a role in fastening parts, all production and manufacturing machinery must be used in a component according to the different materials, divided into carbon steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals (such as copper) and other major types.
What are the standard nut bases?
Nuts based on attributes are mainly national standards (GB), German standards (DIN), international standards (ISO), Japanese standards (JIS), American standards (ASTM/ANSI), and other standards.
Among them, the national standard, German standard, Japanese standard with M said (for example, M8, M16), the American system and the British system is used for fractions or # expressed specifications (such as 8 #, 10 #, 1/4, 3/8).
Commonly used national standards for nuts are as the below.
GB41 Ⅰ type hexagonal nuts – C grade
GB6170 Ⅰ type hexagonal nuts – A, B grade
GB6171 Ⅰ type hexagon nuts – fine teeth – A, B grade
GB6172 Hexagon thin nuts–Grade A, B-chamfered
GB6173 Hexagon thin nuts-fine teeth-A, B grade
GB6174 Hexagon thin nuts – Grade B – no chamfering
GB6175ⅡHexagon nuts–Grades A and B
GB6176Ⅱhexagon nuts-fine teeth-Grade A, B
GB6177 Hexagon flange face grade A
GB55 Hexagon thick nuts
GB56 Hexagon extra thick nuts
GB1229 large hexagon nuts (high strength for steel structure)
What are the materials for making nuts?
The raw materials are carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, alloy, etc.
Stainless steel nuts
Hexagon nuts (GB6170/DIN934), thin nuts (GB6172/DIN439), heavy-duty nuts (metric, U.S.), nylon lock nuts (DIN985-DIN982 thick), all-metal lock nuts (DIN980M), cap nuts (DIN1587), flange face nuts (GB6177/DIN6923), flange face nut nylon lock nut (DIN6926), four-corner welded nut (DIN928), hexagonal welded nut (DIN929), butterfly cap (GB62, DIN315, U.S. system), K cap and so on. Specification: M1.6-M64
Alloy steel nuts
Hexagon nuts (GB6170/DIN934, GB6175), flange face nuts (GB6177/DIN6923)
Round nuts (GB812), small round nuts (GB810), U.S. square nuts, U.S. hexagonal nuts (ANSI/ASME B18.2.2), heavy-duty nuts (metric, U.S.). Specification: 5/16-4”.
What are the nut specifications?
The nut specification table is a specific and detailed way to standardize the various types of nuts and break down some of the specifications of the nuts in a table.
There are many types of nuts and different materials. Each type of nut has different specifications, and each type of screw also has its mechanical properties and role.
